We are trying to start as we mean to go on by signing up and working towards PlasticfreeJerseys business advice document. This is a great way for all businesses to start reviewing what you do and making changes to try and become #plasticfree.
Plastic Free Jersey is an initiative that brings together individuals, groups, businesses and organisations to reduce the amount of plastic we use. Surfers Against Sewage developed the scheme to tackle the plastic problem specifically in coastal areas.
What is even more fantastic about what PFJ are trying to do is that you can act by committing and sharing what action you are taking to become #plasticfree.
Here at Park we are starting with the waste surrounding our drinking, that’s why we have invested in our forever cups. Did you know that UK coffee drinkers use around 3bn disposable cups per year but only one in 1,000 is currently recycled? We felt it was time to tackle this tide of needless waste. That’s why we have invested in the Park KeepCup. This is our contribution to helping our planet.
We have also committed to no longer offering our team, client and candidate guests their water in plastic cups. Glass all the way.
Next on the list is looking at the pens (and paper) that we use in the office. We have started this by moving our registration form on line – no more paper and pens for this part of the process with us, you complete everything on an I pad avoiding more waste ?
Whilst we still have plenty of pens to use up, going forward we will commit to purchasing recycled products.
What could your business do to help our planet?
