Park! Proud sponsor of St Clements football club

Park are very proud to announce our sponsorship of St Clement’s football club. 1st team!

We were delighted when Club Manager Adrian Hick approached us with a proposal for us to become involved and we were happy to support this local team, the club itself celebrated its 50th Anniversary in 2016 having been reformed in 1966, they are a Charter Standard Community Club and inclusion and community are core values of the Club which also echoes the values of us here at Park.

They have 3 senior Men's teams and 9 junior teams in various representative age groups as well as a thriving Mini's section. The players are aged from 4 years old to over 50 and play across 16 teams. They also have a highly successful Ladies netball section.

The team were the first football club in Jersey to create a link with the Anthony Nolan Trust which looks for potential bone marrow donors. Football provides an ideal demographic for bone marrow donors where young males between the ages of 16 and 30. A number of St Clement players have joined the register and indeed one person is currently undergoing further testing as a potential match. Following this the Jersey FA and other football clubs on the Island have also looked to promote Anthony Nolan.

The club have also established a link with Premier league club AFC Bournemouth over the past few years and regularity arrange holiday soccer schools with Community coaches coming over from Bournemouth. You can find details of their soccer schools on their Facebook site. The link with AFC Bournemouth has also resulted in some of their youth players going over to Bournemouth to train with their youth teams which is amazing experience and fantastic for their football development.

St Clement are also proud to run two extremely successful children’s football tournaments every year, the Mini football Festival and the Mini ‘Melly’ World cup which see clubs from Jersey & Guernsey come together to celebrate and enjoy youth football.

I spoke to Adrian and asked him why the club was so important to him:

“I’ve been involved with St Clement Sports Club for 15 years as a player, team manager, volunteer and committee member. It’s an amazing Club that really connects with the community in the way in which it is inclusive and encourages people to enjoy sport and the benefits that can be derived from a healthy lifestyle. Whilst the Club is run by a small dedicated bunch of volunteers there is an air of professionalism which has seen the Club grow in the past 50 years to be one of the biggest in Jersey with fantastic facilities that are amongst the very best on the island”

We have supplied the team with their very own branded football kits, as can be seen proudly demonstrated in their team photograph and we have developed an excellent relationship with the club and even celebrated our recent 40 years in business birthday party at their facilities ( more on that later!)

We are super excited to support the lads, and we wish them the very best of luck in their upcoming games!
