With multiple opportunities arising within Trust, Funds, Banking, Accounting, Compliance/Risk, HR and IT amongst others with small, medium sized and large global companies in the island, do candidates move jobs because an opportunity presents itself with an organisation who they perceive to be an employer of choice or is it the job itself which wins their hearts.
In an ideal world a company would recruit and retain the best talent because it is both a fantastic place to work and offers great career prospects for experienced candidates and talented youngsters. Yet often it is the stage someone is at in their career which dictates whether the brand versus the job rules slightly.
Financial services organisations locally are spending more on boosting their employer brand as they look to differentiate themselves in such a competitive market and so is this working? Are job seekers buying into specific brands or is the lure of a challenging/specific post the key driver?
