Our lives are busy, full of to do lists, WhatsApp groups pinging all day long (anyone else?!) many demands for our attention, and we are all keen to find ways that help us manage it all but when it comes to applying for jobs, I would suggest care!
The way we use technology to support everything is transforming so much and job applications are no exception but as with any emerging technology, it’s crucial to approach AI with caution when it comes to job applications.
I was recently advertising for a role for a new team member here at Park and was surprised at the number of applications I received that had clearly and obviously used AI. I have to say the cover letter full of ‘Z’s’ and what felt like 400 adjectives turned me off and got me thinking of just how important it is to utilise technology and save time but remain yourself! It’s certainly something I will be picking up with clients in the coming weeks to see if they have a mirrored experience, if I have noted this with one role vacant whats its like for those companies that have numerous roles available and does it bother them like it did me?
For sure incorporate AI suggestions into your applications, but make sure your personality, experiences, and unique qualifications shine through!
